First The Old Stuff

This entry will include entries from my old blogs that I would like to carry over. I just want all the background entries in one place.

An Introduction to my Two Lives

I live my life in RL (real life) and SL (second life). They are both equally part of my life. In my RL I am retired due to a disability. I have MS and am unable to work. Some days are more difficult then others, but I get by. I am also married to a wonderful man who is very supportive, but he definitely has to much on his plate. He has to work full time, take care of the house work and be my caretaker. Its a lot to ask of one person. I wish he could get a break, but if I suggest that he thinks am talking about leaving him. A catch-22.

I love him very much thou. In my SL life my name is Annetha Christensen. I am a builder and shop owner. My stores are called Annetha's Store, (I like to keep it simple or I have no imagination). I will let you pick which one you think is true. What really happened was I developed the store before I knew what I was going to sell, so I needed a name that did not lock me into one concept. Now I sell Arts & Crafts and Asian houses and furnishings. I also sell a few garden items.

SL vs. EU

I found out about this new on-line game called Entropia. At first I thought it would be great because it would be something that my husband and I could play together. The article said it was a combination of SL and WoW. WoW is my husband's favorite game. My hopes were very high. Unfortunately it was too much like WoW for me and not enough weapons in the beginning for my husband. He does not like it and neither did I.

After awhile though I felt challenged to go around the continent and at least see what was out there. This is very hard if you have no weapons and no shielding. I strongly recommend that you not try this, but if you must stay close to the shore. That will help, but you will still be in great danger, (there are drones in the middle of the continent). My prob is am just not a fighter. That's why I like SL. I get to create without having to fight anybody, (except my competition). :-) You don't have to gather resources before you can start, and everything you buy is in as perfect a condition as the builder could make it. Entropia is much harder and it looks like it's going to cost a lot more money to get started then SL ever thought about.

SL seems to have a lot more flexibility. I was looking at the EU fashions, and while there were many textures there did not seem to be to many designs, (i.e. I have only seen 2 kinds of hats). I think this is because you need to get a pattern before you can make clothes; there must be a limited number of patterns. SL gives my creativity free reign. I can make whatever I can imagine, (it make take a few prims though).

I am going to give Entropia one more try, but it is not for the fun of it, just for the challenge. If other people can do it so can I. I am determined to at least see another city or the other continent, but for some reason I don't want a mentor. I guess I do not want to be called a disciple. Touches on my religion too much? What ever, it bothers me, so I will try it on my own. Anyway, I will see you next time.

Have a good life!

Avatars United

I just found this website called Avatars United, (http://www.avatarsunited.com/en/discover). Its for and about avatars. They have avatar blogs, profiles, pics, forums and groups. I joined, it looked like it might be fun. If you have an avatar you should check it out. Woot!

Spore Kidnapping

Ok, I have to admit I have been kidnapped by the Spore game. Am having so much fun I can't stop. This is a wonderful game with so much to explore. At first I thought it was pretty linear, but once you get out into space everything goes. I hardly know where to start. There are so many planets to explore. So many races to meet, (so many sporebucks to make ). Its kind of funny and some of the characters really make you laugh. But it is also wonderful, because you never know what you will find next. I hope some of you give it a try. It will let you release your inner creativity.
